Decathlon has recalled its rechargeable paddleboard and kayak electric assist system, model 8771733, and battery, model 8853862. The Office for Product Safety and Standards says water can get into the battery and cause overheating, fire or burns. The products were sold from 1 November 2022 to 12 October 2026.
What owners should do
The regulator advises owners to stop using the products and return them to a Decathlon store for a refund. The notice also explains the disposal and refund process for customers contacted by Decathlon. Check those instructions before taking the battery to a waste centre.
